Otherwise, a quick search should allow you to find the native linux version easily, or even Mac OS.
NOOO GIMP is NOOOT an alternative to windows. Gimp is not user friendly. Gimp is not photoshop-user-friendly. Gimp is just not working out. I have installed it many times and ended up not using it. Even Paint.NET is more user friendly... sad to say :(

really ah? I haven't used it thoroughly yet, but from my skim through, thought it worked ok. Will need more hands-on.
yess i use open source software to replace closed-source software all the time but the only thing i still can't replace is photoshop!
